2010 Awards for Nursing Innovation

using Mobile Technology in Clinical Practice

mHealth Initiative, in conjunction with the School of Nursing at Brandman University, announces an Awards program to recognize innovative approaches for improving nursing practice using new communication and systems enabled by mDevices (smartphones, tablets, netbooks, etc.).  Nurses involved in designing, using, or managing such systems are invited to participate in this opportunity for national and international recognition. Any organization, department, or individual is allowed up to 3 entries. 

Awards

  • 1st Honoree: Free registration to the 2nd mHealth Networking Conference

plus $250 in cash

  • 2nd and 3rd Honorees:  Free registration to the 2nd mHealth Networking Conference
  • Award Honorees may also be invited to present their innovative mHealth adoptions at the 2nd mHealth Conference at the Town and Country Resort, San Diego, CA.  Further conference information is at mobih.org.
  • Following the Conference, all entries will be posted on mHealth Initiative’s website, and the honorees will be announced in national broadcasts and press releases.

Note: Honorees who have already paid conference registration may choose either to receive a refund or to receive free registration to the 3rd mHealth Networking Conference (dates and venue to be announced). 

Judging

The judging will be coordinated by the Dean of Nursing at Brandman University, who will be assisted by a team of independent judges.  Criteria for judging will include:

  • Clinical significance
  • Economic or staffing impact
  • Impact on the quality of care
  • Impact on the daily workflow
  • Innovation
  • Potential for adoption by others
